Highly scented, classic, dark velvety red tea hybrid, loved by many and acclaimed as the World's Favourite Rose in 1988. Good repeat-flowering. Upright growing with medium to dark green glossy leaves.

Extended description

Some say this is the most fragrant tea hybrid. It remains a classic among the red large-flowered varieties, but it is not the easiest garden rose. This species is sensitive to blackspot and sometimes has difficulties withstanding strong frost. On the other hand, the classically filled, large, dark velvety red flowers are beautiful and seductive. Papa Meilland' is world-famous and was chosen as the the World's Favourite Rose in 1988.
