L. Lens , 1996 LENtrimera
This variety is a hybridization of Trier and R. chinensis mutabilis. The name Plaisanterie (meaning 'joke', 'pleasantry' in French) denotes the rose's changing flowering character. Indeed, the single flowers (4 cm) are orange in bud, yellow when opening, pink when the rose has opened fully, and finally dark pinkish purple. The shrub reaches 125-150 cm, is very strong, healthy and disease-free. The foliage is reddish green, like Rosa chinensis mutabilis, which is responsible for the appearance of Plaisanterie. Indoors, the variety retains its orange colour longer and the change in colour to yellow - pink - purplish pink takes a whole week.
