Geranium 'Rozanne'

Perennials ,

Vigorous, long-flowering geranium with violet-blue flowers and spreading habit. Excellent for borders, pots, and pollinator gardens.

Geranium 'Rozanne' is an exceptionally long-flowering cranesbill, prized for its vivid violet-blue blooms and vigorous growth. This perennial forms low, spreading mounds of deeply cut, medium-green foliage, which may turn reddish in autumn. The cup-shaped flowers, about 4–5 cm across, have a striking violet-blue hue with a white center and fine veining – a beautiful and reliable garden presence from late spring into autumn.

Flowering begins in late May and continues well into October, making 'Rozanne' one of the longest-blooming hardy geraniums. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained, humus-rich soil. Although drought-tolerant once established, regular watering during dry spells is beneficial. It is fully hardy and requires minimal maintenance. Light trimming after the first flush may encourage further blooms and a more compact habit.

With its low, spreading habit (30–40 cm high and up to 80–100 cm wide), Geranium 'Rozanne' is ideal as a ground cover, edging plant, or companion in mixed borders with ornamental grasses and taller perennials. It also performs well in containers. Ecologically, it’s a valuable choice, attracting bees and bumblebees and fitting perfectly into pollinator-friendly and naturalistic garden schemes.
