'Chapeau de Napoléon', also known as 'Cristata' or 'Crested Moss', is a distinctive centifolia rose notable for its unique flower buds. The sepals are adorned with green, frilly outgrowths resembling Napoleon's iconic tricorn hat, which gives the rose its name.

The large, very double blooms (over 40 petals) exhibit a pure pink color and emit a strong, sweet fragrance. Blooming occurs in June.

The shrub grows to a height of approximately 120 to 150 cm and features flexible, arching branches that may require support. The grayish-green foliage comprises 5 to 7 leaflets. The plant is hardy to USDA zone 4b and demonstrates good disease resistance.

Introduced in 1827 by French breeder Jean-Pierre Vibert, this rose is a sport of the centifolia rose 'Communis'. It is ideal for enthusiasts of historic roses and performs beautifully in borders or as a standalone specimen.
