  • Colour: ApricotOrange
  • Height: 20 - 35 cm
  • Geum rivale 'Mai Tai' is a charming cultivar of water avens, prized for its soft apricot-pink to copper-toned semi-double blooms, often tinged with red on the petal edges. Flowers rise gracefully on wiry stems up to 60 cm tall, floating above a tidy clump of textured, lightly hairy green foliage. Blooming from May to July, with possible repeat flowering in late summer, it adds a long-lasting, romantic touch to the border.

This perennial prefers a spot in full sun to partial shade and thrives in humus-rich, well-drained yet consistently moist soils. 'Mai Tai' fits beautifully in mixed borders, naturalistic plantings, or woodland edges. It pairs well with ornamental grasses, hardy geraniums, or ferns for a relaxed, informal effect.

Maintenance is minimal—just deadhead spent flowers to encourage further blooming. Fully hardy in the Belgian climate, it’s also a valuable pollinator plant, drawing bees and other beneficial insects to the garden.
