Goethe
The brightly mossy flower buds, sepals, and flower stems are striking. The small-sized, cup-shaped, and semi-double flowers in large clusters have a rich magenta pink colour with yellow stamens and are fragrant. They bloom for a long period in June and July. It forms a large, upright shrub.

This vigorous shrub grows to over 1.5 meters tall and 1.2 meters wide. It is very prickly, the soft prickles on the young branches are burgundy, contrasting beautifully with the dark green leaves. They bloom once in early summer.
